OOC PREFERENCES:
•CONTACT METHOD: Plurk (
batmanschmatman) or PM is fine!
•THREAD-JACKING: The occassional threadjack is fine, but if it's getting overly long, I'd appreciate it moving somewhere else.
•FOURTH WALLING / CANON PUNCTURE: Star Wars is 100% acceptable to fourth wall or canon puncture, but Cal himself is a pretty obscure figure in Galactic history and his canon only existed as of late 2019, so it seems unlikely anyone from a non Star Wars canon predating that would know of him personally. Also fine with having him confused for other Cameron Monaghan characters and spoiling him on any other aspect of Star Wars canon.
•BACKTAGGING: Of course!
•AVOIDED TOPICS: Not super into descriptions of vampires drinking people's blood or plots involving sexual assault.
•PREFERRED GENDER PRONOUN: She/her/etc.
IC CHARACTERISTICS:
•CURRENT CANON POINT: Post game.
•PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Cal is a white human male, who's fairly lithely built and stands at a little under six feet tall while still definitely looking like a teenager. He's got bright red hair that he wears short and green eyes. He has a blaster burn scar running from the right side of his chin across his neck, and scars from shrapnel running diagonally left to right across his right eyebrow, his nose, and the right side of his bottom lip. They're definitely noticeable but not horrific, and are obviously from the same scrapyard accident because they follow the same path across his face. He has a tattoo on his right wrist, which isn't given an official canon explanation but is likely connected to the Scrapper's Guild he was working for. Cal's typical outfit includes a pair of dark pants, a long sleeved shirt, a padded leather vest, various belts and harnesses, gloves and boots, sometimes with a poncho thrown over the top. He's likely to be carrying his lightsaber on his belt pretty much all the time. He speaks with what Earth residents will recognize as an American accent and either just smells clean or like plants/mud depending on how much time he's been spending stamping around in the Enclosure.
•DEMEANOR: Cal can be quiet and keep to himself, but he's polite and friendly when approached and is in general a very easy going, friendly guy. He's not self conscious about asking questions or getting to know new people, and is also definitely going to want to help out if someone's in trouble or needs an extra hand.
•ABILITIES: Cal is Force sensitive, spent most of his early life at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, and was taken on as a Padawan for the better part of a year before the Jedi Purge, so he's had a fair amount of practice learning about and using the Force. Trauma from the Purge damaged his connection to the Force, but while searching for the Jedi holocron, he was once again able to successfully use the Force to push and pull objects telekinetically, make superhuman jumps, and temporarily slow enemies down. He's also very adept at using a lightsaber, reacting quickly enough to redirect blaster fire, switching between single, double and Jar'Kai dual-blade sabers effortlessly in combat, and holding his own against more skilled foes like the Second Sister.
However, Cal is still definitely not at the skill level he would have been if the Purge never happened, as his training was cut ludicrously short, so he's not anywhere close to a master with most of these skills. He excels in a lot of the physical aspects (running, climbing, jumping) thanks to his life on Bracca as a rigger for the Scrapper's Guild, where he'd be doing some of the most dangerous and physically challenging work at the scrapyard, and he's good with a lightsaber, managing to beat the Ninth and Second Sister in combat, but he needs Merrin's help to beat Malicos (a former Jedi) and stands no chance against Darth Vader.
Cal's psychometry is a somewhat unique ability that's rare even among Jedi, and it allows him to sense the history of objects using the Force via touch. This ability is activated by certain objects, not everything he comes across, and is usually associated with very strong emotion, positive or negative. For objects that have been witness to particularly bad events, Cal can become overwhelmed by the memories and experience them as if he was living through them, unaware of his surroundings.
•MEDICAL INFORMATION: Aside from the facial scarring (and probability that he's got a few others that are less visible) and a round burn scar on the left side of his rib cage from getting stabbed with a lightsaber, Cal's healthy and in good shape, with no medical concerns.
•CABIN INFORMATION: The door to Cal's cabin looks like a fairly typical Star Wars style sliding door. The interior is the common area and Cal's cabin on the Stinger Mantis. There's a sitting area, a small kitchen, a few terrariums with exotic plants, and also the three doors to Cere, Greez and Merrin's cabins, which are all locked and Cal won't be investigating them because he's not nosy. There's a workbench in the far back to repair BD-1 or his lightsaber as necessary. His cabin is very utilitarian, with a cot, a pretty cramped/tiny refresher, and not much else.
•OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: The Empire, implying they're doing the right thing, making light of the Jedi Purge, genocide... typical good guy Star Wars stuff.
IC PERMISSIONS:
•MENTAL: More passive/communicative things like speaking telepathically or picking up on Cal's emotions are fine, but anything more manipulate-y I'd like a head's up!
•MIMICRY: Yes, although if it's going to be for nefarious purposes, let me know first!
•VIOLENCE: Absolutely!
•MAGIC: Again, as long as it's nothing unexpectedly violent, definitely!
•DEBATE: Can another character pursue yours for a debate.
•OTHER / NOTES: I'm pretty flexible about most things, but just like communication about any plots that are about to get crazy and violent.
Cal's Psychometry Specific Permissions TBD
